A Benavides man was cited for failure to yield right-of-way after his vehicle struck another at the intersection of Highways 281 and 359 Monday afternoon.
"I just didn't see him," Santos Elizondo Jr, 68, said as his green 1993 Ford Taurus was being prepped to be towed from the scene by Apollo Towing.
According to the accident report, at about 3 p.m. Monday Elizondo was stopped at the stop sign facing east at the intersection of the highways.
The report states Elizondo then failed to yield the right-of-way as he attempted to turn left onto Highway 281, striking with his front driver side the front passenger side of a gray 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 heading south in the outside lane of Highway 281.
Neither driver sustained any injuries from the accident. While Elizondo's car was towed, the other driver, 28-year-old Arnold Trejo Jr., was still able to drive his truck following the accident.
Elizondo was cited for failure to yield right-of-way - turning left.
