The Alice High School Class of 2008 graduation will take place at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
Because of the large number of visitors expected at the event, parents and relatives are strongly encouraged to park at the marching pad behind AHS and utilize the school district’s free shuttle service to and from the stadium Friday night. The shuttles will begin operations at 6:30 p.m.
In case of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony will be moved to the AHS Auditorium. If that should happen, students will be allowed four tickets for family members and friends for seating at graduation. There is no limit for family member seating at the graduation ceremonies at the stadium.
School administrators will make the final determination on the location of the event during graduation practice on Friday morning after Senior Breakfast.
Students are expected to be at the stadium by 7 p.m. The graduates will enter the stadium from the north side of the field in two lines, one for each side of the stadium. One side is for students with last names beginning A to H, the other for students with last names beginning I to Z.
Students have already been told about the graduation dress code, which should be their “Sunday Best” attire. No decorations or modifications are allowed on the students’ graduation caps or gowns. The final count of graduating seniors will be released at 3 p.m. on Thursday. AHS Operation Graduation will begin after graduation ceremonies, and the doors will close at 11 p.m. The event will last until 6 a.m. on Saturday.
