The CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Junior Volunteer program is currently accepting applications for this summer's program, which will start in early June and will continue for six weeks. Participants must be at least 14 years of age. Applications are available in the counselors' offices at Alice, Orange Grove and San Diego high schools.
A two-day Horsemanship School Program will be held Monday, June 18, and Tuesday, June 19, at the residence of Adrian Perez in Freer from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program is sponsored by the Texas Cooperative Extension and instruction regarding riding ability, skills improvements will be given by trained Horse Program Assistants. Participants should be able to ride a horse but are not required to be a member of 4-H. Cost to enroll is $40 for a limit of 20 students. Call Sam Gavito at 361-256-4591 or Perez at 361-207-0180.
