Corpus Christi police officers arrested a Killeen couple in possession of 10,000 ecstasy tablets during a traffic stop on Interstate Highway 37 on April 12.

Keiobbi J. Hill, 32, and Tina Latris Johnson, 31, were both arrested on charges of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. CCPD officers stopped the couple's Audi for speeding on IH 37 near the Rand Morgan Road exit.

A K-9 police unit did a sweep and alerted officers that something was inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle uncovered a bag containing 4.85 pounds of ecstasy, about 10,000 tablets, which have an estimated street value of $100,000, investigators said.

Following his arrest, Hill attempted to flee the detention facility through a locked door but was unsuccessful. His case was referred to the Drug Enforcement Administration for federal prosecution. Another 32 grams of pills was reportedly found in Johnson's purse and she will likely face additional charges, police said.
