Scripture tells us, "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. " (1 Peter)

Easter is a great time to do that. After all, it has been a crazy week. Jesus rode triumphantly into Jerusalem only to be tried as a criminal and horrifyingly crucified just five days later. The good news… He is not dead! Up from the grave He arose! That is the hope we have as Christians! Because of what Jesus did for us, we can live with God forever. That is reason to celebrate!

The people of First United Methodist Church, located at the corner of First and Adams Streets, invite you to join them this Sunday in fellowship and worship as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Worship services begin at 10:15 a.m. Pastor Jim invites all to join him in coffee at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Stay for church school at 9:15 a.m. There are classes for all ages. Pastor Jim is also offering a class on Sunday mornings for those interested in Methodism or the Christian faith in general.

Mid-week opportunities include the Wonderful Wednesday activities for children and adults.  A meal is served at 5:30 p.m. and study time follows for children and youth. Pastor Jim Noble continues his Bible study on Revelations at 6 p.m.

Wesley Nurse, Billy Scoggins is offering Diabetic Health Education classes each month. In addition, the Alzheimer's Support group will hold a meeting Tuesday, April 26, and coming in May is a "Parenting Wisely" program for grandparents raising grandchildren. If you are interested in any of these classes, please contact Billy at 664-3801.

This week, be prepared to give an answer for the hope you have…come join the folks at First United Methodist Church and invite someone to join you this week!
