A police officer and municipal court clerk, who were put on paid administrative leave have been reinstated after being on a 10-week hiatus.
Officer Enrique Saenz is back on patrol after being accused of modifying a traffic citation. Nanci Adami, city court clerk was also reinstated, but reassigned to a different department. She was also under suspicion of being involved with the discrepancy.
City Manager Ray De Los Santos Jr. said in a written statement the city would be implementing an ethics policy.
“The investigations regarding an unusual traffic citation at the Alice Municipal Court has been completed. The investigations have uncovered practices that are not condoned by city management,” he said. “Accordingly, city management will convene a City Manager’s Advisory Committee to begin work on a city ethics and integrity policy to be implemented for every department of the city.”
