The Agua Dulce High School graduation ceremony was scheduled tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the Bud Bailey Stadium, but a sudden down pour of rain moved attendees inside to resume an alternative plan.

The original graduation was thoughtfully planned to follow the Center of Disease Control (CDC) instructions for safety precautions, with six feet distancing and minimal number of tickets for entrance per student in an open aired outside football stadium.

Unfortunately, a sudden down pour of rain caused participants to run for shelter and throw caution to the wind in terms of CDC regulation guidelines. People packed close together for dry shelter many of which were not wearing a mask and definitely not six feet apart. A common response to the wet conditions pre-coronavirus, just three months ago.

This year will be a year to remember for the 2020 high school graduates. The pandemic has defied all measures of so-called normalcy and a series of non-traditional events for the average high school Texan.
