Silver Star Food Stores with a community partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Alice and the Friedeck Family helped to coordinate a Curbside School Supply Giveaway Event on Friday, May 8.

Community Volunteers helped to pass out to each local student a 38-piece School Supply Kit to encourage them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amanda Sue Friedeck with Silver Star Food Stores expressed how this event was so important not just to cheer on local students, but to showcase that the community believes in their education.

“The community came together to raise $1,000 to order over 140 school supply kits for our local students. Seeing the student’s excitement to receive their kits truly shows optimism,” Friedeck said.
