Jennifer Ocana was arrested on Wednesday after a traffic stop occurred at the intersection of North Johnson and West Main Streets. When the officer made contact with the driver he observed an open container of alcohol. Through the roadside interview, the officer asked Ocana, the passenger, to step out of the vehicle. When Ocana got off the vehicle she had a synthetic marijuana joint in her hand. She told the officer the drink was hers. Ocana was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was taken to the Jim Wells County jail.
On Tuesday, Officer Homero Mendoza met with a concerned guardian about cocaine found in her grandson’s backpack. She turned over the drugs and asked the officer to please talk to her grandson. The officer met the grandson at the grandmother’s residence and spoke about the effects about drugs. No arrests were made.
