The Jim Wells County and City of Alice Emergency Management Team in partnership with the Texas Department of Emergency Management will conduct a mobile testing collection, scheduled Monday May 4 thru Thursday May 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds: 3001 S. Johnson St. Alice, TX.
Orange Grove is scheduled for May 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Orange Grove High School: 701 S. Reynolds - Orange Grove, TX.
Premont is scheduled for May 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Premont Library: 115 S. Agnes - Premont, TX
The Premont and Orange Grove sites are tentative, there will be a presite visit 3 days before the testing to make sure the selected sites meet requirements.
Screenings will consist of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, congestion and loss of taste and smell.
The Texas Department of Emergency Management is asking Jim Wells County residents to please register only 24 hours before the selected date to test. The software has recently crashed due to the enormous amount of calls.

In order to share facts and not fear, and to emphasize the importance of prevention health officials advise these simple steps everyone can take to help prevent spreading the virus:
*Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
*If soap and water are not available, use a 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
*Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
*Stay home when you are sick.
*Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
*Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
*Practice social distancing by staying at least six feet away
*Stay at home and stop the spread of coronavirus
