Effective April 20, Mayor Jolene Vanover signed an Executive Order requiring all individuals over four years of age to wear face masks over the mouth and nose when entering any place of business, as a patron.
The order is legally effective today at 11:59 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. April, 27.
This is in response to the public health concern for the coronavirus (COVID-19) and all efforts to "flatten the curve" with social distancing and precautionary measures. The order states any hand-made masks, handkerchiefs and scarfs etc. that can be laundered and machine dried and medical grade masks should be reserved for health care employees.
The order states that deliberate violations under the executive rule can be punishable by a Class C Misdemeanor and a fine up to five-hundred dollars.
