Usually around this time, Silver Star Food Stores is getting ready for their annual Easter Egg Hunt for the community. Yet, this year in the spirit of Easter they partnered up with the Boys and Girls Club of Alice as well as Roxy’s Mascots to bring joy to many families by hosting a joint community project, Easter Egg Hunt On The Go.
Instead of the conventional Easter Egg Hunt, the businesses came up with a way to have fun and follow local and state guidelines on the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
On Friday, April 10, the Boys and Girls Club of Alice provided their daily meal to club members as usual. In addition, the public was also invited to participate. Families lined up and down the area in their vehicles to receive their goodies while being greeted by the Easter Bunny.
“This was just another way the businesses/organizations could bring joy to families and thank them for being a part of the community. Right now, more than ever we need to share and be kind to overcome this situation,” said Amanda Sue Friedeck, Public Relations from Silver Star Food Store. "Sometimes it is the simple things in life that really matter, and this event truly expresses that traditional message we all loved as a child.”
