Alice city leaders attended a conference call with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and clarified that in conjunction with the Stay at Home Order, it was determined that Golf Courses are nonessential.
The city has taken action and will close golf courses effective Tuesday April 7, 2020 at 5:00 PM until further notice.
The city stated their guidance in regards to the coronavirus is current as of today, but is a fluid and an evolving situation- changing by the hour.
If anyone, chooses to use the golf trails as walking trails during the coronavirus outbreak, are urged to be respectful of others and make responsible choices.
Note: that trail and park users may find limited access to public restrooms and water fountains. Do not use parks or trails if you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.
The City of Alice posted on their website, that it will continue in the efforts to protect the health and safety of our patrons and staff while monitoring the recent COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and continues to press the public to follow the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services guidance on personal hygiene and to observe social distancing minimums of SIX (6) feet at all times.
