The Alice Housing Authority recently received two grants for more than $400,000.

The Alice Housing Authority Grant Award for $239,250 is for resident opportunities and self-sufficiency-service coordinators program (ROSS-SC). The grants are awarded through the HUD’s resident opportunities and ROSS-SC, which supports local, innovative strategies that link housing assistance with public and private resources to enable participating families to increase their earned income; reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance; and make progress toward achieving economic independence and housing self-sufficiency.

The second grant was for $175,461 for cardon monoxide detectors.
