Effective at 11:59 p.m. on March 27, Duval County will follow suit with surrounding counties and issue a Stay-at-Home order for residents.


All individuals currently living within Duval are ordered to shelter at their place of residence...For the purposes of the order, individuals may leave leave their residence only to perform essential activities such as healthcare operations, government functions, critical infrastructure and retail such as grocery shopping etc.


A violation of this order is punishable by a fine of $500 per violation and jail time, according to the order.


The County is following suit of other cities and county around South Texas.
