The City of Freer handed over the keys for two new and improved homes under a grant program called the "HOME" grant.

Olivia Cudd and Minerva Tracey received their new home keys; the two remodeled homes were the last two out of five homes from the grant project, the city awarded to qualifying residents.

The grant was funded through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

The city was awarded a total of $500,000 in grant funds for home improvements including new installation, heating and air conditioning, roofing and home repairs for safety.
