The San Diego Vaqueros scored four points in the first inning en route to victory against the West Oso Bears of Corpus Christi by a score of 9 – 2 at the Skidmore-Tynan Tournament.


Senior Chris Alvarez struggled early on as West Oso scored two in the second inning before being relieved by senior Felix Alaniz who threw 5 strikeouts and did not allow any hits or walks to finish the game.


Junior Sergio Guerra led the team with three RBIs off a triple and junior Derrick Gonzalez went for two for three with a double and a triple and one RBI.


Hector Gaza (Fr), Aiden Garcia (Fr), Christian Alvarez (Sr) and Carlos Hernandez (Jr) all scored during their route of the Bears.


Romeo Ramirez (Sr) had two RBIs. Jeron Adams (Sr) and Brandon Ramirez also contributed with one RBI each.


Their next opponent will be Mathis today at noon and Skidmore-Tynan tomorrow at noon.
