Two new Alice Police Department employees were introduced to the Alice City Council and the public on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Alice Police Chief Aniceto "Cheto" Perez welcomed police Officer Manuel Garcia IV and Dispatcher Joseph Jasso who will serve and protect the residents of Alice and those passing through.
Jasso, 18, is attending Texas A&M University Corpus Christi pursuing his degree in criminal justice. His brother, Officer Orlando Jasso Jr., and his father, Cpl. Orlando Jasso Sr., also work for APD.
Officer Garcia, 21, is a recent graduate from the Corpus Christi Police Academy and graduate from the Coastal Bend College with an associates in criminal justice.
Officer Garcia was officially pinned on Thursday, Jan. 23 by his parents, Manuel Garcia III and JoAnn Garcia.
