AGUA DULCE - Unsuspecting motorists traveling through the City of Agua Dulce were surprised on Monday by the City Marshals.
City Marshal Joe Martinez and his Deputy Billy Kimbrell conducted several traffic stops. Martinez and Kimbrell pulled over one family who was not expecting to see red and blue lights in their rear view mirror. This was possible through the generous donation by the Wyatt Ranches and the Wyatt Foundation.
The Barrera family from Calallen were traveling to Alice for a work Christmas party when they were pulled over.
Jennefer Barrera was driving and panicked when she saw those unmistakable lights. She thought she was getting a ticket but wasn’t sure what for, she said.
Barrera was with her husband Rocky and their five-year-old daughter Andrea.
Turns out the stop was to give Andrea a Christmas gift and not a ticket.
Martinez’s office has been giving gifts to motorists who have children for three years. Making the holidays easier for motorists.
Andrea was instantly happy with her new baby doll.
According to Martinez, they also gave several gifts to a young girl who was on her way to the dentist for a procedure.
The City Marshal’s Office plans to continue to spread Christmas cheer for years to come.
