The eighth annual Community Meal served turkey and sides Monday, Nov 11. at the KC Hall on 1050 Cecilia Street.

The meal which started in 2011 was hosted by the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and Living Word Fellowship.

The Alice Queen's court and Dubose Intermediate School served the meal to a large community participation.

The community meal began with the Stewardship Committee at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. As a response to Bishop Micheal Mulvey's desire to unite other churches the mission was extended to unite the Christian community.

Six years later, the event was packed with people honoring Veterans Day and breaking bread with others to support the church’s mission.
