A house alarm call Tuesday morning had Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office to a residence on County Road 463.
As deputies were responding to a call they observed two men walking on County Road 461.
When they arrived at the residence they began to investigate.
"The area was checked and an open window to the residence was discovered," said JWC Sheriff Daniel Bueno. "Also on the property were several other buildings which appeared to have been entered. Several suspicious clues were discovered on the property such as fresh shoe prints and a new I-phone charger."
As deputies were conducting the investigation, they received a call about the two men they had seen walking on County Road 461. The men, later identified as Jefferson Alexander Rising and Juan Antonio Perez, caught the attention of neighbors who called to report the men who were acting suspicious.
The men were questioned and evidence from the scene matched the men’ belongings. They were taken to the JWC jail and charged with burglary of a building and criminal attempt to trespass of a habitation.
