The community of Orange Grove came together for the annual National Night Out on Tuesday.
Music played through the speakers as children and adults enjoyed free food, games and received informational brochures about the different entities in the community. School supplies were given to children on behalf of the Jim Wells County Juvenile Probation Office.
The event, began in 1984, is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police and community partnerships held the first Tuesday of August or October.
A fun way for the whole community to be safer and stronger. National Night Out founder Matt Peskin believed that raising the profile of citizen-based crime watch programs would bring greater safety to neighborhoods.
National Night Out is an opportunity for citizens and law enforcement to partner up against crime.
