What was the best advice you ever received? What you create for you, no one can take from you.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years I see myself graduating from the nursing program at TAMUCC and starting my career as a registered nurse. Becoming a registered nurse has always been a goal of mine. Helping people in need and seeing their health improve brings joy to my heart. Graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to provide for myself.

If you could change anything about this world, what would it be and why? One thing I would change about the world is animal abuse. Every 60 seconds an animal is abused in some way or form. That is unconscionable, especially in a world like ours, but animal abuse still continues to happen all over the world. Animal cruelty can happen any way but the effect is always the same. A lovable companion can experience pain, neglect, and fear. Cases of animal cruelty are in different categories, animal abuse, neglect, exploitation, human predation, and animal testing. We turn a blind eye towards these things taken place. The problem is that there aren’t enough people fighting for animal rights. If everyone started to look at animals — and not just dogs and cats — as fellow, innocent beings with whom we share our planet, we would see far fewer cases of cruelty toward animals.

If you could invite three people to dinner who would they be and why? The first person I would invite to dinner is Frida Kahlo. Artist Frida Kahlo was considered one of Mexico's greatest artists who began painting mostly self-portraits after she was severely injured in a bus accident. Kahlo later became politically active and married fellow communist artist Diego Rivera. Her influence changed art in her use of bright colors, dramatic symbolism, and self-expression. Another person I would invite to dinner is Jhené Aiko. Jhené Aiko is one of my favorite female artist. She started her music career at such a young age. Jhené is a down to earth person with her music being traditional soul and R&B oriented. Her voice sets her apart from other artists. The last person I would invite is John Lennon. Lennon was the center of world issues like religion and war. At a time like this John was the voice for many during a time of war. Lennon was a music icon and wanted to spread peace and make peace. His music and determination have always been a favorite of mine.
