Name: Christopher Barrera

Parents: My mom is Irma Suarez and my step-dad is Alfonso Suarez. My dad is Chris Barrera.

Educational or future plans: I plan on continuing my education at Coastal Bend for the first two years of college, then transferring to Texas A&M University Kingsville. I would like to become a speech pathologist, and help kids with their speech impediments.

Clubs and Officer positions: Student council, HOSA, Future Health Professionals, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America, Football my Freshman year of high school.

Accomplishments/Honors: Graduating high school, being selected as a Teen of the week will probably be my biggest accomplishment, took AP classes and participated in a fundraiser for HOSA.

What was the best advice you ever received? The best advice I’ve ever received was probably from my mom, she told me “No matter what happens to you in life, It’s always good to keep your head up, and keep moving forward.”

Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I see myself already graduated from college, working at a school to help kids, and living on my own.

If you could change anything about this world, what would it be, and why? I would like to put a stop to sex trafficking that goes on in this world. I love kids, I hate finding out that a young boy or girl was taken so they can be tortured, and put for sale. I have a little sister at home, and I wouldn’t want that to happen to her or anyone else.

If you could invite three people to dinner, who would they be, and why? If I could invite three people to dinner, it be Kevin Hart, The Rock and Conor McGregor. Kevin Hart because I think he is a great comedian. The Rock because I love his movies, and Conor McGregor because he is one of my favorite fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
