A new name has been chosen by the Alice Housing Authority for the High Rise Apartments located at 600 East Front Street.

The apartment complex name will be changed to La Bella Vida High Rise... A Senior Living Facility. The winner of the name search was Maria Cortez.

This is the first name change of several apartment complexes under the Alice Housing Authority.

In 1963, the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Act Incorporated created Alice Housing Authority in order to create and fund low income housing for families in Alice.

Since than, the Alice Housing Authority has been providing affordable housing for all.

The Alice Housing Authority built five (5) apartment complexes, but only one was named by the Board of Directors. The only named complex is The Heritage Place located at 125 Olmitos.

Cortez received a $50 Visa gift card from the Alice Housing Authority.
