Arrest made in knock-and-talk
Agents with the Alice Police Department and the Duval County Sheriff's Department conducted a knock-and-talk search at a residence on the 200 block of West Third Street Friday, May 3. Officers made their way inside the residence where they located Cassie Folger and another woman in the kitchen. The women were detained. During the search of the residence, a smoking pipe and 3.26 grams of cocaine were located inside a pursue hidden in the kitchen cabinets. Folger was transported to the Jim Wells County jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
No seat belt leads to drugs
Bryan Gonzalez was arrested Thursday, May 2, after police conducted a traffic stop on the 700 block of East Third Street after his passenger was observed not wearing a seat belt. Gonzalez and his passenger made contact with the patrol officer and were asked to step out of the vehicle. A pat down of Gonzalez led to the discovery of 0.50 grams of crystal meth. The officer asked for K9 assistance. K9 Rex with the Alice PD alert officers to a glass pipe and five pills. Gonzalez was taken to the JWC jail. The passenger was cited for no seat belt and was released.
Traffic stop arrest
On Monday, April 3, a traffic stop was conducted on the 1200 block of East Main Street with the driver of a Chevrolet Blazer. The patrol officer made contact with Esperanza Sandoval and two other individuals. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a glass pipe and 0.2 grams of crystal meth. Sandoval was taken to the JWC jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
