SAN DIEGO - The community of San Diego gathered at the Plaza Alcala for the 7th annual Duval County Children's Spring Festival on Saturday.

The annual festival helps raise awareness on child abuse prevention.

Children and their families enjoyed activities such as a cake walk, moon jumps, games, free food and refreshments. Children were eligible to win prizes such as bikes, scooters and more.

According to the 2018 Department of Family and Protective Services, there was 192 alleged child abuse victims in Duval County and 47 of those cases were confirmed.

Child abuse effects not only children but communities. April is child abuse prevention month.
