Jose Cantu was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana on Wednesday, April 10 by the Alice police.
APD's Narcotics unit and the SWAT team conducted a raid at Cantu's residence located on the 400 block of South King Street.
Concerned citizens tipped off police because they believed drugs were being sold from the home, according to police.
Officers made entry and immediately detained 50-year-old Cantu, his brother and their mother.
A search of the residence and the property by officers led to the discovery of several forms of drug paraphernalia.
Cantu had 1.6 grams of cocaine on him and officers found a marijuana joint inside the residence. Officers confiscated the drugs, drug paraphernalia and $180.
Cantu took ownership of the narcotics. He also had a Brooks County warrant.
Due to Cantu's health issues the Jim Wells County jail could not accept him. He was taken to the Alice PD where he was given a bond by a judge and released.
