Man admits to using synthetic marijuana to sleep
Zaragosa Munoz was arrested on Wednesday, March 20 when police located 3.7 grams of synthetic marijuana under the driver seat of his vehicle. Munoz was pulled over by police when he made an improper turn from Aransas Street to Front Street. When the officer asked for consent to search the vehicle Munoz said yes. The synthetic marijuana was found inside a clear plastic bag. Munoz told the officer he uses it to help him sleep. Munoz was taken to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Woman arrested for being in possession of pills
Melissa Villanueva was booked into the JWC jail on Tuesday after a traffic stop near Easterling Drive. Villanueva was pulled over when an Alice police officer noticed she was driving at night without her headlights on. Villanueva became nervous when the officer approached her. She gave consent to search her vehicle. The officer located a total of 74.5 Xanax pills and 20 Lortabs inside her purse. The pills were confiscated and Villanueva was transported to the jail. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
