Alice Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Carl Scarbrough was guest speaker at The Alice Book Lovers Club meeting on Wednesday.

The club held their regular meeting and talked about their next district meeting in the Rio Grande Valley. President Dee Dee Arismendez announced that in October, they will be hosting a regional meeting in Alice.

Scarbrough spoke about the Alice ISD's bond election on the May 4 ballot and encouraged everyone to vote. The superintendent was presented with a Dr. Seuss book by the club. The book will be placed in one of the school district's libraries.
