A recent meeting between Jim Wells County officials centered around environmental crimes in the county and how to deter the major issue.
Jim Wells County Sheriff Daniel J. Bueno along with Chief Louie Valadez, Captain Rolando Barrera, Environmental Crimes Investigator Sgt. Ramon De La Garza, and Commissioner Wicho Gonzalez, precinct 4, discussed new cameras that will be utilized in the surrounding areas of the county.
The cameras are motion activated with built in GPS trackers. They will take pictures and video recordings when motion is detected. With these cameras the department will be able to monitor any illegal dumping happening in the county.
The devices will send images and recordings to Sgt. R. De La Garza who will investigate and determine if a crime has been committed which may result in legal actions.
