The Alice Police Department was temporarily closed to the public Tuesday as FBI agents conducted an investigation.
"The City of Alice is working with the FBI regarding a potential breach to the police department computer system," according to Alice City Manager Michael Esparza.
The FBI arrived at the police department at about 9:30 a.m. to assist the city in a physical review.
According to Esparza, the potential breach has only affected to the APD and his office has been in communication with the FBI since then.
"This investigation is ongoing and city administration and the police department considers this a serious situation and are cooperating fully," Esparza said.
Christina Garza, public affairs officer with the FBI, could not discuss the specifics of the active investigation. She would only confirm the agents' "lawful presence."
