FREER - One man was killed and two men were transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle rollover Thursday morning.
According to Freer Police Chief John Spillers, the SUV was traveling on Highway 44, inside the city limits, when the SUV left the roadway, lost control and flipped over.
Freer police were notified about the accident at 5:30 a.m. and immediately began the investigation.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. According to Spillers, the deceased is not a Freer resident and will not release the name pending family notification.
Department of Public Safety, Freer EMS and Freer Fire Department, and US Border Patrol assisted.
