South Texas Young Republicans (STYR) Social Media Director, Robert Moncada, traveled to Phoenix, Arizona on Feb. 22 to represent the St. Mary’s University College Republicans and the South Texas Young Republicans at Turning Point USA’s Young Latino Leadership Conference.

Moncada, a native of San Diego, heard from Latino and conservative speakers from all across the country. Amongst them were speakers like TPUSA Founder Charlie Kirk, UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz, The LEXIT Movement, Border Patrol Union President Art Del Cueto, Parkland School Shooting Survivor Kyle Kashuv, and a video address from Senator Ted Cruz.

Moncada also ran into vice-president of the Texas Republican Party Alma Jackson who was also invited to the summit.

The synopsis of the summit was to signify that Latinos do not have to always vote Democrat due to social norms or keeping with tradition of years of voting for Democrats.
