Traffic stop arrest

A traffic stop for defective license plate lights led to the arrest of Daniella Arroyos. On Wednesday evening, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of North Aransas and Third Street. When they approached Arroyos driver-side window, the officers observed an open container in plain view. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 9.5 grams of marijuana. Arroyos was taken to the Jim Wells County jail and charged with possession of marijuana.

Wanted man runs from police

Officers spotted Arnoldo Alaniz Wednesday afternoon on the 1000 block of Pasadena Street. Alaniz is well-known to the officers from previous run-ins. They believed he had a warrant. However, when Alaniz spotted the patrol unit he began to run. He attempted to run into a residence, but the door was locked. Police were able to take Alaniz into custody. He was charged with evading arrest and resisting arrest. He was transported to the JWC jail.

Two arrested for narcotics on disturbance call

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of East Fifth Street for a disturbance. When they arrived they met with the reporting party who stated that Jesse Chapa wouldn't allow his sister, identified as Mia Sepulveda, leave the property. When Chapa opened the door to his bedroom, police observed marijuana in plain sight. The reporting party gave officers consent to search the house including the bedroom. Police located and seized 17 grams of marijuana. Chapa and Sepulveda were taken to the JWC jail. They were charged with possession of marijuana.
