Alice Independent School District will host their 7th annual community and family engagement conference and health fair on Saturday, March 2 at Alice High School from 8:45 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. AISD will have workshops and invites the public to come discover just how beneficial community and family involvement can be in the lives of students.

Parents and community members who attend will have engaging and informational presentations while also getting access to free health and wellness screenings. Parents and children will be treated to a free breakfast, free lunch, free books and numerous door prizes. Also, free child-care for AISD school children ages 5 through 10 will be provided.

This year AISD will have three session rotations. The topics to be presented include:

Cyber Safety in a Tech Savvy World

Literacy Fun Make-N-Take

Stopping the Cycle of Domestic & Family Violence

Recognizing the Signs of Depression

Importance of Parent Involvement

Active Shooter Training

The conference will also feature one of the top Hispanic youth speakers in the country, Jonathan Medina from Brownsville, Texas. A variety of local merchant vendors and informational booths will be on-site for parents to visit while in attendance. Local agencies will be on hand to provide health and wellness screenings and answer questions about their services.
