Two long time Alice Rotarians participated in the adult version of the 4-way speech on Wednesday afternoon.

Gail Hoffman and Nena Pitts stood before their peers to give their speeches.

The speech is centered around four questions and must be answered in each participants speech. Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Hoffman's speech was about making decisions throughout a person's life following the Rotary "guidelines." She spoke of a boy who found a toy truck, to his high school career and even his adult life questioning his actions based on the Rotary "guidelines."

Pitts' speech revolved around domestic violence and the impact on victims. She expressed how victims could be from a child attempting to stop the violence or a primary victim. She also touched on recent victims in Jim Wells County who last their lives stemming from domestic violence.

Judges awarded Hoffman the win. She now goes on to the area adult speech contest.
