Days after an alleged incident at Saenz Elementary between a teacher, teacher's aid and special needs student(s) a report was filed with police.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Nov. 8, but police weren't called till Monday, Nov. 12. When the officer arrived at the campus the principal stated that a teacher and a teacher's aid had place student(s) in a closet turned the lights off and held the closet door shut, according to police.

"The safety of our students and their education is our top priority. An allegation was brought to our attention that there may have been a violation of Alice ISD student discipline procedures," said Ofelia Hunter, public relations officer for the district. "Although we cannot comment on personnel concerns or investigations, we hold our personnel to high standards and are committed to investigating any allegations that violate our code of ethics. We want to reassure our parents that your child will be cared for and there will be extra support as needed."

Child Protective Services were contacted and notified about the incident.

A Criminal Investigation began an investigation Friday after the mother of one of the students involved made an official report with Alice police.
