Adelina S. Ramirez turned 100-years-old on Tuesday, Nov. 6 surrounded by her family and friends at the Retama Manor of Alice where she has resided for the last nine years.
Ramirez was born in Hebbronville to Selavin and Aurora Sanchez. She was the first born of four children with one surviving brother.
She had three children, two boys and a girl, all whom are deceased. She has four grandchildren with a second generation of seven grandchildren, with 32 great grandchildren, and third generation of four great, great, great grandchildren.
Ramirez said the most beautiful thing in her life was her family as well as helping others.
In her years, she has seen all the world wars and served as a Sergeant with the Salvation Army and dedicated her life to being a nurse.
Her father lived to be 103 years.
Ramirez family, friends and the Retama Manor of Alice staff were part of Ramirez's birthday celebration.
