Alice High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon when a report was made that a student was in possession of a weapon.

According to police, a 16-year-old boy told two other high school students that he had a weapon.

The students reported the threat and school authorities reacted immediately, according to police.

None of the students actually saw a weapon and police did not locate one.

The 16-year-old student was detained and transported to the Alice Police Department for processing. A Jim Wells County Juvenile Probation Officer was called.

He was charged with terroristic threat.
