An Army convoy stopped for a lunch break and to regroup at the Whataburger on South Highway 281 Monday afternoon.
According to Lt. Col. Mary Ricks, Media Relations for U.S. Northern Command Public Affairs, said the convoy is with the 289th Quarter Master Company First Calvary Sustainment Brigade and is on its way towards the border.
The convoy from Fort Hood is part of a logistics team.
The team will not have its mission until they reach their destination. However, the soldiers are normally in charge of life support issues such as food and water setups as well as engineering equipment, according to Lt. Col. Ricks.
The military convoy is part of President Donald Trump's attempt to secure the border against the caravan of Central America migrants who are traveling north through Mexico in an attempt to enter the United States.
