To show their appreciation to the DuPree family, Holmgreen Mortuary honored them by naming a fellowship hall after them.
Dale and Gina DuPree met in 1966 and got married three months later in March of 1967. They had four boys together.
The couple were employed with the mortuary and were prominent members of the Alice community. They were both active in their church.
Dale joined the staff at Holmgreen Mortuary in Novemeber of 1968 as Gina took a job with Texas Farm Bureau for 20 years. In 2000, Gina joined the staff at Holmgreen Mortuary in 2000 and retired in 2013.
During Dale's career at Holmgreen Mortuary, Dale served in many different capacities with the Texas Funeral Directors Association (TFDA) including serving as President of the South Texas Region. At the 2017 TFDA annual convention in Austin, Dale received the prestigious 50-year award and was presented with his 50 year service pin.
Gina passed away in January 2017 after a long illness. Her passing came a few weeks after her and Dale's 50th wedding anniversary.
The fellowship was named after the couple as a small token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication to Holmgreen Mortuary.
The DuPree Fellowhip Hall was named in the presence of the couple's children, grandchildren and friends.
