Over the weekend, Alice ISD JROTC cadets went to the John Newcombe Ranch to participate in some team building and some high ropes events.
Fifty-two cadets were on the trip with both senior leadership and younger cadets as they worked together to form bonds, learn teamwork and overcome fears. Newcomers to the trip was Corps Commander Cadet Maya R. Garcia.
"I was so happy seeing everyone come together and support one another. We have cadets who have difficulties interacting with new people, as well of fears of heights, so knowing that the cadets got to know each other more and help each other get through obstacles was everything I wanted to see happen," Garcia said. "I went home with a big smile on my face knowing that the cadets who were scared the most did better than me at the high ropes and got out of their comfort zones."
