Thirty-five-year-old Eliseo Everett was arrested on drug charges Friday after an unexpected visit from the probation department.
Everett, who is on federal probation, was at home on the 800 block of Seabreeze when he got a knock at the door. He open the door to find a representative from the Jim Wells County Adult Probation Department for a surprise home visit.
Once inside the home, the probation officer noticed instruments used in the sale of narcotics in plain view, according to Jim Wells County Investigator Ernie Rivera.
The probation officer called the sheriff's office and deputies responded to the home. Deputies detained Everett outside the residence and patted him down for officer safety.
Deputies located cocaine and liquid methadone in Everett's pockets, Rivera said.
A search of the home was conducted were the drug paraphernalia was located. Investigators seized 2.79 grams of cocaine and 62 grams of liquid methadone.
Everett was transported to the JWC jail. He was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.
According to Rivera, Everett is on federal probation for a firearm charge and has been arrested 14 times through the sheriff's department.
