DRCs Closed for Labor Day
All disaster recovery centers located in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Jim Wells counties will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018 for Labor Day. DRCs will reopen at normal business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Survivors can still register for assistance or check the status of their registration by going online at www.disasterassistance.gov, calling FEMA's toll-free registration line, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or by smartphone at m.fema.gov. If the applicant has a speech disability or hearing loss and uses a TTY, call 1-800-462-7585 directly; if the applicant uses 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362. FEMA phone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week; multilingual operators are available.
