ROBSTOWN - Five people were confirmed dead Friday at the Retama Nursing Center located at 603 E. Avenue J and at the suspect's residence on Highway 44, according to Robstown Police Chief Erasmo Flores.
Police were dispatched to the nursing home at about 7 p.m. in reference to an active shooter.
According to the release, Robstown Police Chief Erasmo Flores confirmed that two males and one female were found dead when police arrived.
Jose E. Trevino was inside the nursing home visiting his friend when he heard an alarm. Trevino said that nurses told him and his friend not to leave the room.
Trevino said he didn't see a shooter or hear any shots fired. He stayed with his friend until he was given the clear.
Police than discovered two other individuals were killed at a residence belonging to the suspect.
While city nor police officials have confirmed, the suspect is believed to have shot himself inside the nursing home.
The Texas Rangers will aid in the potential murder.
No names have been released at this time.
