The strays at the City of Alice pound are in desperate need of a furr-ever home.
The shelter currently has 12 dogs that have been at the pound for several weeks.
Due to lack of employees at the pound they are not taking in anymore strays or making calls until the city can hire a certified animal control officer.
A Facebook post about the dogs being euthanized has been circulating. The City of Alice wants to let everyone know that the pound is not closing.
However, the remaining animals need a home and a family.
The adoption fee is $25.
All animals adopted through the city should be sterilized 45 days after adoption. A voucher can be picked up from People Assisting Animal Control that would give a discount with the spay and neutering of an animal.
Anyone who would like to make these dogs part of their family should call the Alice Police Department between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at 361-664-0186.
