A 19-year-old man turned himself into police Wednesday after discovering police were searching for him after having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, according to police.
Recently, the girl was picked up from school by friends of Francisco Rodriguez. They took the girl to meet with Rodriguez at a residence in Alice.
The teenagers had sexual relations before the girl returned to school, according to police. The girl was taken to a relative's house to stay by her parents after they discovered the events of the day.
On Saturday, the girl's aunt took her to school where she left with another male subject, according to police. Since the parents were unaware of the girl's whereabouts she was reported as a runaway.
When the girl was located she was returned to her parents.
According to police, the girl told her parents about the sexual relationship she had with Rodriguez and how they met online through several social media applications.
Rodriguez was charged with sexual assault of a child.
"These are false allegations and (the police) will be hearing from my attorney," said Roberta Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez's mother.
Francisco Rodriguez turned himself in and was transported to the Jim Wells County jail.
