Eighteen-year-old Anthony Aguilar was booked into the Jim Wells County jail on a theft of firearms charge on Monday.

Alice police were called out to a residence on the 700 block of West Fifth Street in May of 2017 in reference to a burglary where several firearms were stolen.

The victim told police that the back door of the residence had been broken into and an unknown person had taken several firearms and jewelry.

Through the Criminal Investigations Division's investigation Aguilar was identified as the possible suspect.

According to police, there was an incident in Duval County in August of 2017 that involved one of the stolen firearms.

A warrant was issued for Aguilar.

On Friday, April 20, Alice police was notified that Aguilar had been located and was incarcerated at the Nueces County jail for a robbery charge. Aguilar was released from Nueces County jail and transported to the Alice Police Department for questioning.

Aguilar was uncooperative and taken to the JWC jail.
