SAN DIEGO - The driver of a stolen vehicle led law enforcement on a chase Monday that ended when the driver lost control.

San Diego police were notified of a stolen gray Dodge Charger out of Brooks County that had been spotted in the city limits.

When police attempted to conducted a traffic stop when the driver, Arturo Trigo of Falfurrias, fled at a high rate of speed east towards Alice.

San Diego PD's Sgt. Jonathan Melendez chased Trigo into Jim Wells County when the vehicle lost control near the rest area on North Highway 281.

Trigo and a juvenile were immediately detained. Trigo was transported to the Duval County jail and juvenile was later released to his parents.

Trigo was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest with a motor vehicle and a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child. 

Department of Public Safety troopers, JWC Precinct 5 Constable’s Office, and the Duval County Sheriff's Department also assisted in the chase.

No injuries were reported. Investigation is ongoing.
